L. 36 Flight schedule for BBI All employees of Berlin Airports will be actively included in the merger of Berlin’s formerly three, and now two, airport locations to form BBI. In 2009 therefore, we presented the “Flight Schedule for BBI”. A range of activities, including BBI conventions, a series of presentations, visits by members of the management to the different segments, a brochure, the em ployee magazine and intranet, were organised to enhance the exchange of information. The next step will be to arrange personal meetings with the employees to discuss their future position at the airport. Employees On 31 December 2009, Berlin Airports had 1,467 employees, of which 918 were based in Schoenefeld, 548 in Tegel and one at the subsidiary Facility Management Tempelhof GmbH i. L. Additionally, there were 84 employees in the passive phase of the early retirement programme, 63 trainees and BA students. Job development In preparation for the merger of Berlin's two airports for the new BBI, the number of jobs at Berlin Airports has been reduced slightly. Due to employee demographics, there were numerous new recruitments in 2009. From more than 2,200 applications, 29 new employees were recruited. Employee productivity at Berlin Airports has increased steadily over the years; with 65.53 employees per million passengers in 2009 (2008: 66.38).
